Real fuel consumption and economy logo

Most fuel efficient minivans

We calculate fuel efficiency by taking into account engine capacity and power, and comparing advertised and real fuel consumption of a specific car with cars of similar capacity and power. So the most fuel efficient car is not the one with the lowest fuel consumption, but the one that uses the least fuel to deliver the same performance. Using this approach, the most fuel efficient minivans are Toyota Previa 2003, Ford S-Max 2006, Ford Galaxy and Ford S-Max 2010.
In absolute terms, the minivan with the lowest advertised fuel consumption is Ford Galaxy 2015, although users report that actual consumption is on average 38% higher. The modification with lowest real fuel consumption by user reports (34.6 MPG or 6.8 l/100km) has Ford S-Max 2010.

This comparison does not include hybrid vehicles. The fuel consumption figures shown are the advertised figures, click on the vehicle names to see the real fuel consumption for all the modifications.
