Of all Hyundai i20 modifications produced from 2009 to 2021 real fuel consumption according to user ratings is approximately 30% higher compared to advertised consumption. For petrol engines real consumption is in average 26% higher, but for diesel engines is approximately 34% higher. Starting from 2009 Hyundai i20 average difference between actual owner-reported fuel consumption and stated consumption was significantly higher than average, at 2014 it was similar to average, at 2016 difference became slightly above industry average and finally at 2019 difference between owner-reported and advertised fuel economy became less than industry average.
